As I stated in the Winter Classic recap article the Bruins are starting to buzz. They beat the Flames tonight 6-4 and the Bruins were BUZZING. If the Bruins came out tonight and crap themselves it would not have shocked anybody. They did the complete opposite and won in style tonight.
Coming into this game you knew it would be a high paced game given the style of game the Flames play. The Flames are this year’s Islanders. They will score a lot of goals but they are shaky in net. Mike Smith played awful tonight he lost the game for the Flames. The Bruins capitalized on Smith’s bad play and put up 6. Thank you very much because I had the over in the game, the first bet of the year was a winner, maybe 2019 will be my year.
Bruins went down early in the first after giving up a league lead 13 short handed goals. They battled through the early deficit and came out with a 2-1 lead at the end of one. Moore tied it up on the PP with his 2nd goal of the season. Then Debrusk tipped in a shot from the point to score his 12th of the season.
Look how far in the crease Smith is playing. What are you doing here Smith looking like a mite goalie out
The Flames scored first in the second to tie things up. The Bruins challenged for goaltender interference but Toronto ruled it was a good goal. Marchand put the Bruins ahead not long after that for his 14th on the year. Put the Bruins up 3-2 and that would be it for scoring in the 2nd.
Not sure if Krug was looking for Marchand’s stick here but a hell of play if he was and an even better tip by Marchand. This was not Krug’s only highlight play from this game. Watch this assist he had on Pastrnak’s goal.
Just a heads up play by Krug. They obviously practice this play in practice and Krug recognized Pasta had a step on the guy to beat him out for the icing. This put the Bruins up 4-2. The Bruins would rack up two more goals in the period from Debrusk and Marchand, who each finished with two goals this game.
Ok seriously Smith what the hell are you doing here, show some balls and go challenge him to cut down the angle. This Debrusk goal reminded me of his go-ahead goal vs Toronto in game 7. Breaking down the wing and using his body to get position on the defenseman.
The Bruins almost played a complete game of hockey tonight. The Flames got a few goals late and controlled the game for the final 3 minutes but the Bruins found a way to win. This is a solid win for the B’s. Calgary is in first place in the Western Conference and the Bruins were right there with them.
Buffalo comes in Saturday who the Bruins beat a couple days before the Winter Classic. The Bruins are rolling right now with confidence and rightfully so. These have been three good wins in a row lets see how much longer this can continue.
