Connor McDavid is arguably the best player in the world but he is wasting his time in Edmonton. This is his fourth season in the league and it looks like he is about to miss out on the playoffs again.

A player with McDavid’s talent can change a franchise. In today’s NHL one player can not do it all by himself. He is going to need help with the right role players around him to build a championship level team. Edmonton had a chance with McDavid on his rookie deal to add key pieces and former GM Peter Chiarelli failed to do so. Chiarelli was finally fired this season and he has left the Oilers in a huge mess.
McDavid is only 22 years old so he had A LOT of great years left but he has to be looking at this roster and asking himself, where is this franchise going? Fans know what direction the team is heading in.
There is no way McJesus wants to spend his whole career in Edmonton. This year’s roster will be same for next year unless Keith Gretzky can make moves because only a few guys are up for contracts. McDavid needs to have little NBA ego in him and
How can you have faith in a franchise that only managed to make the playoffs once on your rookie level deal with your talent?
When was the last time an NHL star demanded a trade? It’s been a while. The Oilers are going nowhere because they are stuck with bad contracts that will be hard to move. McDavid should look out for himself and get out of Edmonton earlier rather than later.
